Connie Talbot
Posted on: April 26, 2011
A little while ago I did a blog post on Connie Talbot, 4 years old, auditioning for Britains Got Talent. She sang “somewhere over the rainbow” and was absolutely amazing for a 4 year old. I never really heard of her since then, but yesterday I found this video and saw that she has a channel of where she sings. This video she sings “someone like you” by Adele and it was amazing. She is 10 years old and her voice sounds like she could be 20. This girl is going to go very far for sure.
Blackberry Playbook
Posted on: April 23, 2011
This is the new BlackBerry PlayBook which just recently came out, and not many people are buying it…I’m sure BlackBerry lovers are buying it, but there is an Ipad out there that most people already probably got. Honestly I’m not that impressed by what I see and the reviews I have read on it. I don’t deny that it’s a cool and fun gadget, but BlackBerry has yet to create something that Apple hasn’t already done, and for almost the same price as an Ipad, I would honestly choose the Ipad over this. This just seems like another attempt to steal Apple’s customers away, but I don’t think it was a good attempt.
Destructive Tornado in Jackson, MS
Posted on: April 20, 2011
Whenever there is a thunderstorm, I always go in my garage and watch it, though something like this would scare me to death! Things like this makes me so happy to live in a place where we dont get this bad of weather. I cannot believe these people were videotaping from what it seems not to far away. Cars were also driving on the road as the tornado was happening, I guess these people are used to this kind of weather, but I know if I saw a tornado I would run and take cover!
Absolut End
Posted on: April 18, 2011
1. This is ad is representing alcohol in general, but specifically absolut vodka.
2. Absolut vodka, in a negative way.
3. The image in this ad is a chalk outline of a bottle of absolut vodka, with paramedics, news reporters, and police around the scene.
4. The text that is in this ad says: ABSOLUT END. Nearly 50% of automobile fatalities are linked to alcohol. 10% of North Americans are alcoholics. A teenager sees 100,000 drinking ads before reaching the legal drinking age.
5. There is a bird’s eye view of the ad, the colours aren’t very bold, though I think they didn’t want to focus too much on the outside of the image, only the absolut bottle and the meaning behind it.
6. Everyone. Anyone who drinks, teens or adults, anyone can make that fatal mistake of drinking and driving.
7. I think this ad does display a very clear message, Absolut end is a clear yet catchy way of grabbing the reader’s attention and to understand the message of this ad: if you drink and drive your life could be over in the blink of an eye.
8. I don’t think there is much to improve in this ad, the colouring is a little dull and may not catch a reader’s attention but other than that, this ad does a good job getting their message across.
Piano Stairs
Posted on: April 17, 2011
This video is awesome! I think it was very smart to think of that idea to make the stairs into a piano. This video is so true though, everywhere you see in malls, subways, movie theatres, everyone takes the escalators or elevators, and this is honestly such a smart idea to get people to get more exercise and have a little fun with it as well. I know that if I saw this in a subway, I would for sure take the stairs, and I probably wouldn’t be able to get off…
