Contact Movie
Posted on: February 27, 2011
I had to watch this movie for Religion, and I found it really interesting. The storyline is about Dr. Arroway, who is a scientist and believes very strongly that there is life on other planets. Once the scientist team gets a message from the ‘aliens’ to send one human through a ‘alien machine’ to visit their other planet, Dr Arroway volunteers immediately. She visits the other planet, sightings that were so beautiful she couldn’t even describe. Though back on earth, no one believes her, because they said that Dr Arroway was only gone for half of a second, but according to Arroway she was gone for approximately 18 hours. Dr Arroway does not believe in God, because as a scientist she needs proof in order to believe. Though after her experience of going through to the other planet and no one believing her, because she didn’t have any proof, I think she starts to realize that not everything has proof. It was a really good movie, an definitely made you think.
Dont Follow Your Dreams
Posted on: February 26, 2011
I thought this was actually a really good article, Harrison Solow made some really good points. I never really thought of the “follow your dream”saying that way, but its true; if you don’t earn it then it’s not really your dream its someone else’s dream. I think that’s the same thing about the future, I say to my dad that I don’t know what I want to be, and he always answers with “you can be whatever you want to be”, but I honestly don’t think that’s true. That’s like saying I want to be a brain surgeon when I can barely pass science. You have to be realistic. I’m not saying that I’m not going to follow my dreams, or not be what I want to be because it is too hard to get there, I just like being realistic too. I think Solow made a really good point when he said, you have to earn your dream, achieve it, not just have one.

Aron Ralston Interview
Posted on: February 20, 2011
I forced myself to watch the movie 127 hours this weekend, and I am so glad I did. Even though it was really gross at times, it was an amazing movie. Though what really got me interested was seeing the real Aron Ralston at the end of the movie. I went on YouTube and found his interview he did with Tom Brokaw, they actually relived the exact nightmare he went through. They visited the exact canyon where Aron was stuck, and they showed actual footage of Aron talking to the camera, talking about how he was going to die, and saying goodbye to his family. It was really something, watching this interview, there are 6 parts to the interview. Seeing the movie was one thing, but to see the actual man who had to cut his own arm off, and how brave he is for doing this interview was really something.
Jeopardy Computer, The Watson
Posted on: February 20, 2011
I thought this jeopardy computer the “Watson” was a really good idea. Technology is growing and becoming more advanced everywhere, so why not on Jeopardy. They tested it out a while ago, but made it better recently, and it was close but the computer did win while playing against the human players. I think that it’s a really good challenge, I don’t think that its unfair, or that the computer is too smart. I think it just offers the actual players to have a little more competition. I think viewers are really going to like seeing Watson play with other humans, because they can try to beat the computer not just the players. It’s going to add a new twist to the game show world for sure, I think more game shows could be adding in computers to play against players in the future.
Women almost killed by train
Posted on: February 13, 2011
This happened in 2009, and I stumbled across it a few days ago and thought I would use it for my blog. This woman is clearly drunk, and when I first watched it I couldn’t believe how careless and stupid she was being. It really is a miracle that the driver stopped the train literally at the perfect moment, any longer and she would have been hit. I don’t even feel bad for this woman, she was obviously really drunk and this is entirely her fault. Though she is one lucky woman, and hopefully she realizes that.
Vertical Soccer

In Japan, in the busiest street in the world a soccer game was going on, but in the air. Attached to strings including the ball, players were playing a soccer game on a billboard. My friend sent me this video saying “we should try this at our next soccer practice”, definitely would be something amazing to try, probably hard but fun!
